The intertwining of Eastern Mysticism with Western Culture – Why Christians should be concerned about it, PART 1

TantraAn art museum is currently showing a special exhibit on Tantra in Buddhist Art.

The brochure for the exhibit (pictured right) says, “Tantric works of art support the process of visualization that leads to removal of mental obstacles and allows the practitioner to witness – and move closer to achieving – the power and ecstasy of the enlightened state.”

What mental obstacles need to be removed from a Christian’s mind?

God would say none.

Galatians 5:19-21:
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,”

“Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Here is information on Tantra from Sanatan Society:
“The aim of Tantra Yoga is to expand awareness in all states of consciousness, whether waking state, dream state or sleep state. To accomplish this we need a kind of “deprogramming” and “reprogramming” of our human computer.”

This practice is designed to alter the human mind through meditation and yoga. This is something that a Christian person should have nothing to do with, for their own spiritual protection. God clearly condemns this type of “false worship.”

Please pray for those you know who are caught in this trap to be delivered from the snares of the enemy.
