Have Christians completely lost the culture war?

Did anyone watch the Grammys? Did you catch Katy Perry’s performance?

What do you think about her wearing a cross on her outfit while demons dance in the background, a circle is cast, and fire rages around her?

For those of you who haven’t seen Katy Perry’s performance from the Grammys, you can watch it here:

Christian artist Natalie Grant tweeted that she left the Grammys because the performances were in conflict with her faith.

What, if anything, can we as Christians do to impact this culture in a more positive way?

Are you washing your hair with products intended to draw you into the worship of false gods, and idolatrous practices?

The intertwining of Eastern Mysticism with Western Culture – Why Christians should be concerned about it, PART 2.

The following photograph was in a brochure, available at no cost, from a local shopping mall store selling skin and hair care products:

Let’s define some of the terms that are employed in the photo: says, “The Vedas are considered the earliest literary record of Indo-Aryan civilization, and the most sacred books of India. They are the original scriptures of Hindu teachings… “Veda” means wisdom, knowledge, or vision, and it manifests the language of the gods in human speech. The laws of the Vedas regulate the social, legal, domestic and religious customs of the Hindus to the present day.” says, “The 7 Chakras are the energy centers in our body in which energy flows through.”

Kundalini – says, “Kundalini is the energy of our soul. Kundalini is imagined as a coiled serpent lying asleep at the base of our spine.”

This picture from the website of the company who creates these products shows a touch on the third eye chakra:

This is how a guru will transfer “energy” during a kundalini awakening. This is called shaktipat. “Shaktipat is the transfer of spiritual energy from the teacher to the student in order to awaken the kundalini.”

Here is another photo of a guru giving a shaktipat initiation to awaken the kundalini energy:

Here is more information on a kundalini awakening from the Spiritual Research Center’s website:

“The Kundalini is the spiritual energy and it generally lies dormant, coiled at the base of the Sushumnanadi for an average person. Through spiritual practice it begins to rise from the base of the spine through the Sushumnanadi right till the top of the head. While it does so, the Kundalini awakens each of the chakras along the way.”

“Kundalini awakening happens through spiritual practice or spiritual transfer of energy.”

“Some people try to force awakening of the Kundalini by efforts through the Path of Deliberate Rigour. However, this can lead to deleterious effects. Some can even become insane from it.”

The Spiritual Research Center’s website also says, “Whatever the spiritual path, when there is spiritual growth the Kundalini rises.”

The Bible tells us the truth about our spiritual position, and about obtaining salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

This is made known to us in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This has nothing to do with any type of chakra energy, kundalini force or awakening.

John 14:6 restates the point, and makes it very clear, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Any spiritual practice outside of what God says is good in The Bible is deception, and will result in spiritual confusion.

The information from the company also attempts to sell a product that is meant to enhance a meditative practice as is illustrated in the following picture:

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:7: “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” This is the exact opposite of what this product is advocating.

These products are attempting to sell to us – and indoctrinate us – with the religious tenets of Hinduism, a spiritual practice that God warns Christians about in the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:3: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

Be vigilant, Christians!

A Tribute to Pastor Chuck Smith founder of Calvary Chapel

You may have heard about the recent passing of Pastor Chuck Smith founder of Calvary Chapel, and one of the most influential figures in modern American Christianity. We are saddened by this news, and are praying for his family.

The Sunrise song, The Jesus Movement, features a tribute to Chuck Smith. The video contains a reference to him, and footage of him as well.

The Jesus Movement song gives a history of the Jesus Movement and Jesus Music of the late 1960’s and 1970’s.

Watch the video here:

“You don’t have to be a biblethumper to be against this.”

ImageThe title of this post comes from a not-so-graceful commenter on a Washington Examiner article about late-term abortions. The article addresses Live Action’s video and audio investigations at late-term abortion clinics in their “Inhuman” campaign.

The video can be watched, and the article titled “Doctor tells woman 27-weeks pregnant to have abortion on a ‘toilet'” can be read here:

Another commenter put it very well when she wrote, “In my life, I’ve seen, read, heard cruel situations, but this is one of the worst, if not the worst. If the woman did this to a puppy, she would be reported to humane societies. Where have we got to in this world. God have mercy on America.”

Please pray for our country.

Please pray that all women who are facing this difficult decision will choose life for their children.

Please pray that the medical personnel who are performing these tragic acts will have a change of heart.

Are We Living in the Days of the Great Apostasy?

All the more reason to step it up and lead as many to Jesus Christ as possible…

The Marination of Me

As far as the devil is concerned, the next best thing to keeping you chained in spiritual darkness or having you live as an emotional wreck, is confusing your belief system. If he can muddy your mind and weaken your faith with partial truths, he can neutralize your effectiveness for God and stunt your growth as a Christian.
